Matt Radovich has been announced as part of the local contingent to perform at the upcoming Solar festival in January under his Mike Hunt alias. The Festival which will be held at the scenic Mornington Racecourse on January 3rd will feature a mixture of acts – both electronic and otherwise – including PNAU, Kisschasy, the Presets, Muph N Plutonic and Josh Pyke among many others. Also performing will be MTC favourites Mike Callander and Dave Pham.

Matt Radovich has been chosen to support a host international talent including Radio 1 legend Gilles Peterson and Jurassic 5 turntablist DJ Numark at Brown Alley on New Years Day. The event which is co-hosted by 100% Phat, The Operatives and Niche Productions will also host the Platinum Pied Pipers & the Flying Lotus alongside a swagger of Melbourne artists.

Matt Radovich will perform under his Mike Hunt alias at the show, which is shaping up to be hands down one of the best value for money events scheduled for the New Years period.

Legendary nightspot the Lounge, is the latest Melbourne club to embrace the recent techno revival with their new night Slap. Headed up by the delectable Nadine of Tickled Pink fame, the Slap crew have named the Melbourne Techno Collective’s Sam McEwin among the DJ’s on rotation every Friday night. Also named among the regular Slap DJs are Dave Pham, U-one, Sam Fraser, Ant J Steep, Danni B, Emily Clark and of course Nadine.

Sam begins his residency on Friday the 26th of December with a 4am till close set.

Sam McEwin’s DJ set from his headlining show at Canberra’s Llik Llik Llik party in November is the latest live recording to be added to the MTC Radio Podcast. The set which was well received by the Canberra party goers was a deep and driving affair featuring music from Carl Craig, Jona, Barem, Loco Dice, Dario Zenker, Prompt and many others.

Craig McWhinney has been selected to perform along side some of Australia’s finest DJs and live acts as part of the line-up announced for the Blow Your Own Way 5th Birthday.

Soma Corp’s Blow Your Own Way events have become a hallmark of the Melbourne techno scene since it’s inception way back in 2003.

Along with the many international guests the have graced the Blow Your Own Way turntables, Soma Corp gave thanks to all the local jocks who have contributed to the brands success, including three of the four Melbourne Techno Collective DJs.

The 5th Birthday event will be held on December 20th over two rooms at Miss Libertine with a who’s who of Aus techno acts including Simon Caldwell, Christian Vance, Mike Callander, Dallas Raft, Ben Cromack, Aram Chapers, Virginia Le, Michelle Valenti, Myles Mac, White Zoo and of course Craig McWhinney.

The MTC’s Matt Radovich AKA Mike Hunt has been chosen to support Detroit ghettotech legend DJ Assault.

For the uninitiated DJ Assault is a pioneer of ghettotech, the style of early house accentuated by gritty production and even grittier lyrics. Assault raised Ghettotech to mainstream success, with his club hit, Ass ‘n’ Titties, featuring his raw and stripped back raps and his live sets have become legendary.
