This Saturday you can catch Sam McEwin playing the closing set at Lucky Coq in Windsor. Sam kicks off from 1am and will play tech house to the south side party goers until 3am. Lucky just seems to get better every week at the moment, so we hope you can make it along.

The next installment of the Sneakerpeeps events is back this Friday May 8th with Detroits super legend Stacey Pullen alongside local faves Mike Callander, Dave Pham, Richie Rich (Soundtrack Saga set), Ben Cromack, Jen Tutty, Luke MCD, Oliver James, Daniel Tardrew, Lucas Wheeler, Tyrone, Ross Horkings and the Melbourne Techno Collective’s Matt Radovich under his infamous Mike Hunt guise.

After nearly two years since the last MTC Free Techno event, we have once again resurrected the brand for a very special one off event at Miss Libertine. Joining the Collective crew is none other than DJ Dave Rankine.
Back in Melbourne after an extended break overseas, Dave Rankine was once regarded as the wunderkind of the Melbourne scene and to this day Dave Rankine has been championed as one of the most technically gifted and musically astute DJs to come out of Melbourne. Starring alongside Rankine will be Collective residents, Sam McEwin, Matt Radovich, Jay Reading and Craig McWhinney and the night promises to be a throw back to he glory days of the Melbourne techno scene and Melbourne Techno Collective events. The Melbourne Techno Collective are very excited about the potential that Digital Radio is going to bring to the local music scene. Digital radio will launch in Melbourne next Monday the 11th of May and while it will take some time for people to upgrade their receivers, the opportunity to get some real diversity back on Melbourne airwaves is something we should all be very excited about.

Pioneering techno DJ Richie Hawtin has announced the development of a new Twitter application that enables him to broadcast his Traktor tracklists in real time over the network.
The custom Twitter application was developed in-house by Richie Hawtin’s label Minus, and it works by uploading song metadata through Traktor Pro’s inbuilt broadcasting functionality.
Track details are automatically posted to Richie Hawtin’s Twitter account every 30 seconds (you can already see Traktor tracklist updates on his Twitter), giving anyone access to the tracklist of his performance, and providing exposure to the artists and labels whose music is being played.
The Twitter app is so advanced that it inspired Native Instruments to add the functionality themselves to version 1.2 of Traktor Pro which will be released as a free update.
That means that soon everyone will be able to tweet their tracklists via Traktor. Awesome!
