admin | September 24, 2009

Haul Music 06 Craig McWhinney Grandview GroveMelbourne Techno Collective wunderkind and Haul Music cohort Craig McWhinney, has added to his ever growing reputation as a serious player on the world techno scene with his latest earth shaking release. Haul 06 features huge remixes from Mike Callander and Christian Vance and has received some major props from some big name superstar DJ types.

Purchase online at Beatport now!

“The black beauty of Grandview Grove lies in it’s colourful nature as Craig, sitting high in his studio above the tree lined grove, ponders life and the celebration of all things. The strings, jazzy chords and a carefree nature wrap up the groovy rhythm of the track so swingingly that we wonder just what really goes on in that studio high above the tree line on that leafy boulevard. So strap on your fig leaf and get amongst the lively vibe of our latest release and let your hair down – no matter what colour it is. McWhinney’s latest offering is sure to stir all sorts of things.”

Feedback:

Alex Kenji (303Lovers / Hotfingers)

latin DJ Pierre which is cool for an Austrian residing in Melbourne.”

melodic vibe that gets me in a good mood. love it :) ”

New Albums:Claude VonStroke, Matias Aguayo, Solomun

admin | September 2, 2009

Well it seems that long players are the flavour of the month at the moment. Resident Advisor today announced – via their weekly newsletter – new albums from Calude VonStroke, Matias Aguayo and Solomun. All due for release in mid to late October.

VonStroke’s new album entitled Bird Brain (Pictured) is reportedly a diversion from his 2006 Beware the Bird release, While Matias Aguayo’s Ay Ay Ay will no doubt be a diverse and quirky affair on the Kompakt label. Solomun’s Dance Baby – due at the end of October – will reportedly showcase “The breadth of his skills” with a large range of stylistic influences to be found on the album.

All should be essential listens and proof that the MP3 is not the death of the long player album – well not yet anyway.
