Melbourne, 28th January 2016. Piknic Elektronik Melbourne has had a great start to it’s second season with their first two events reaching over 2000 punters! Piknic #1 was a scorcher in every way, the sun was beating down on The Paddock and Kevin Saunderson turned it up for the dancefloor. Petit Piknic enjoyed some hoola hooping & giant games, was great to see the little revelers having so much fun. Dubfire headlined Piknic #2 last week and the vibe was electric, their locals both weeks; setting the perfect tone for what’s to come.

This Sunday’s lineup just got that extra bit special – K.I.M will be performing a semi live set showcasing some unreleased material and Misstress Barbara from Montreal has just been added to the lineup. It has been 12 years since Barbara last graced us with her techno presence and this Sunday. Misstress Barbara (word play between Miss and Stress) is an internationally renowned electronic artist, DJ and Producer, who has performed at some of the world’s top clubs and worked alongside music heavyweights such as Bjork, The Prodigy, Tiesto, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin and John Digweed just to name a few. With various techno releases coming up this year on Tronic Music, Loose Records and other respected labels while she keeps up with her various producer projects and her exclusively selected favorite DJ gigs, be sure not to miss her this weekend at Piknic!

“Piknic Électronik is my absolute favorite event to play at, so I’m very honored to get to play the Melbourne edition too!” – Misstress Barbara via facebook.

With electronic music at the core of its mission, Piknic aims to open up the genre by offering an immersive social experience. Defined by its specialized yet accessible programming, Piknic Électronik knows how to please both electronic enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

The third artist announcement welcomes Misstress Barbara, Secret Cinema, South London Ordnance, DeWalta, & Christian Vance LIVE, as well as locals Dean Benson, Phil K, Stockholm Syndrome, Isaac, Fryer, Bounce Audio DJs and Hans DC.

About Piknic Electronik:
Vibrant in Montreal since 2003, Piknic Electronik’s first mission was bringing electronic music to all audiences by pulling it out of the night circuit and giving it a platform out in the open, in parks accessible to all. Now a major festival event of the Montreal summer, it draws, every Sunday of the summer, an average of more than5,000people of all ages, backgrounds and orientations, musical faithful and newcomers who converge on its flagship site at Parc Jean- Drapeau, under the majestic Calder statue, to enjoy music, the particular setting and very unique ambiance. The year 2015 marked the beginning of international development initiatives, and the concept of Piknic is travelling very well. After two successful debut seasons in Melbourne and Dubai in January, we launched a first season in Lisbon in July. To the success of these new ventures, we must add the four-year-old Barcelona Piknic, a precursor of this international adventure. Over the next five years, Piknic aims to have set its banner in ten cities across Europe, Oceania, and North and South America so that people the world over can experience the unique atmosphere that has shaped the reputation of the event.
